Bridge of Sighs VeniceDesigned by Antoni Contino, the bridge spans the Rio di Palazzo connecting the Doge's Palace inquisitors rooms with the palace prisons. However, the bridge was romanticised by Lord Byron who gave it the name Bridge of Sighs or Ponte dei Sospiri in Italian.
Numerous stories have appeared about it such as that lovers who pass under it at sunset in a Gondola will remain in love for the rest of their lives. You could be forgiven for thinking this may be a little tale for tourists invented by the Gondoliers but never the less, the bridge is one of Venice's most famous architectural attractions and forms part of Tim's work in documenting Venice Architecture in detailed Watercolur paintings.
